Reminder: Call for Social Media Volunteer for Migration and Asylum Network - We are still looking for volunteers for our social media platform; deadline 4th April

Due to the rapid expansion of our membership, the Migration and Asylum Network is looking for a motivated individual with a strong passion for migration and asylum, to support our work.

We are looking for someone interested in migration from either a practitioner or academic perspective. It is crucial that the candidate possess experience in increasing participation on online platforms, digital advocacy or communication strategy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is also an asset.
The position is remote, and the volunteer will work in direct collaboration with the Migration and Asylum Network Founder, and the Coordinators. Further details below.

Who We Are:

We are a team of professionals and academics working to develop a structured digital platform for in the field of migration and asylum to facilitate collaboration, build partnerships and share knowledge on refugee issues among researchers and practitioners. For researchers this holds a valuable opportunity to invest in stakeholder engagement and discuss research impact. For practitioners in the field an opportunity to not only take part in but influence and shape relevant research and academic discussion.

So far, the platform exists as a Jiscmail and as a Facebook group, but we aim at structuring and harmonising the different platforms and using their full potential, eventually also integrating other social medias to reach the highest number of users ensuring at the same time quality communication and sharing.

With this objective, we are looking for a motivated individual with a strong passion for migration and asylum issues who is interested in devoting 5 hours per week to support developing this platform.

You work would be to share your creative views and suggestions to develop a comprehensive digital communication strategy to:

1) Identify the best platforms to facilitate networking online (Facebook, Twitter, WordPress blogging etc.)
2) Engage researchers and practitioners in sharing academic research, knowledge and ideas
3) Assess impact of the platforms
You would also be involved in coordinating and facilitating engagement on the platforms.
